Now Hiring: Communications Manager for Our 2025 Festival Season! 

Are you a strategic communicator who thrives in fast-paced, creative environments? Word Vancouver is seeking a Communications Manager to lead the development and execution of a festival-wide communications strategy. From managing media relations and coordinating author interviews to overseeing social media and amplifying key events like our Silent Auction and publisher spotlights, this role is central to how we share our story. 

This is a hands-on, collaborative position ideal for someone with sharp writing and editorial skills, a deep understanding of both traditional and digital media, and a passion for literature and the arts. You’ll balance high-level planning with day-to-day content execution, and deliver key insights in a post-festival communications report that helps shape our future seasons. 

Key Responsibilities Include: 

● Media & Public Relations 

● Social Media and Digital Communications 

● Festival Promotion & Content 

● Internal Communications & Support 

What We’re Looking For: 

● Demonstrated experience in communications, media relations, or marketing (arts/non-profit a plus!) ● Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills 

● Strong social media and project management skills 

● Familiarity with the Canadian literary/media landscape is an asset 

Commitment Requirements: 

● Flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends, especially during the lead-up to the festival ● Availability to attend planning meetings (virtual or in-person) 

● Ability to deliver a post-festival communications report
