2026 Word Vancouver Member Accomplishments

Our Members aren’t just supporters of the Literary Arts in Vancouver and BC, many are writers and artists themselves!

Check out their accomplishments:

Joanne E. Betzler is the author of Nothing to Discuss, Breaking From 20 Years of Intimate Partner Violence. 

Daniela Elza, Scar/city (McGill-Queen’s University Press) is a finalist in the BC Yukon Book Prizes. Scar/city was also short-listed for the George Ryga Award for Social Awareness in Literature.  Scar/city was a winner in the Sunshine Coast Writers and Editors Society Book Award for BC Authors. Her debut essays collection Is this an Illness or an Accident? was an Honourable Mention in the Nonfiction category in Sunshine Coast Writers and Editors Society Book Award for BC Authors.

Taslim Jaffer is the editor of Back Where I Came From: On Culture, Identity, and Home.

Janet Nicol is the author of A Cause to Fight For.

Suzanne Scott Tomita is the author of Until Even the Angels.
